LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE:
Its about creating places where people love
to live, work, learn and play!

Landscape Architecture is the art and science of planning,
design and management of our landscape resources.
Landscape architects provide engaging active and passive
outdoor spaces while preserving the health, safety and
welfare of its users and occupants.

Design drivers include the unique context of place, local
culture & traditions, site ecology, regional climate, site-specific
micro-climate, and indigenous materials. We understand these
influences first. Then we let them influence the generation of
unique design ideas….ideas that in the end, fit best.

A primary consideration in design is to create functional
beauty in the landscape – landscapes that fulfill human needs
and desires, beautifully. We create places that we ourselves
would want to live, work and play. Places where time-tested
values of connecting people to nature include strolls along
winding woodland paths, where forest flora and fauna
abound, where serenity seeps into ones soul and recreation
really is re-creation of the spirit.

The typical design process includes programming, inventory,
analysis, preliminary design, design development, construction
documentation. Plant selection in landscape design is
determined by ecology, dendroform, color, texture and
purpose. This contributes to selecting plants that fulfill design
intent and thrive in micro-climatic site conditions.

We apply the 7 principles of Xeriscape design to promote
beautiful, low maintenance and environmentally sustainable
landscapes - Planning & Design, Soil Analysis, Appropriate
Plant Selection, Practical Turf Areas, Efficient Irrigation,
Appropriate use of Mulches, & Appropriate Maintenance.
